EA Buys Small Time PopCap Games
Big time EA purchased the small time game company PopCap. PopCap developed a few popular games like; Plants Vs. Zombies and Bejeweled. Now the surprising thing isn't the fact that EA purchased PopCap, that was actually a really good move, judging on the success on their games. What's surprising is how much EA gave to PopCap. EA gave PopCap $650 million dollars in cash, and over $100 million dollars in stock, though some sources state differently. Sources say that the deal could "One-Up" the EA Bioware purchase. EA purchased Bioware (games include the Dragon Age and Mass Effect Series) for $860 million. Anyway PopCap CEO David Roberts states that PopCap picked EA because of their ability to make great games (to simplify). Is this EA's move to take over the gaming industry?
