Nickolodeon Takes On The Major League

Nickelodeon and 2K Games are teaming up to create a new nickelodeon character themed baseball game. Let me just say somthing: There are things in life you can combine and everything will work out great. This is not one of those games. I can already tell this game is going to suck. Combining cartoon characters and real life players might be fun for kids but we all know that kids these days like headshots and kill streaks, not home runs and stealing bases. The only kids that might be slightly interested are the ones into sports but we all know they'd rather play any other sports game then this one.
Anyway the game isn't going to be like the Mario themed baseball, where all the teams have nintendo characters, the way the article made it sound like was this game had 1 team that was nickelodeon themed. And you get to play against the 30 real life Major League teams. This game sounds more like a DLC pack for a actual baseball game then just an actual game. But I checked and double check and various sources have said that this is an actual game coming out.
But it's not all that bad. I'm sure you can still play as the various 30 teams available, and a few new stadiums have popped out with some exciting twists. I bet even the gamplay has a "bigs 2" feel to it. Any way the game is due to come out this summer and (if your kid is interested) you should go check it out.

MW3 SURVIVAL MODE!

There's been lots of hype about the new game from Infinity Ward. Now, I'm sure anyone who is an actual gamer can say that they already know a lot about the gameplay. At MW3's E3 booth, gameplay was showed from the campaign showing a lot of things. One of them, and I have to say one of the things I'm most looking forward to, is the return of slo-mo Breach n' Clear entry. I mean come on, who doesn't love shooting the bad guys in SLOW MOTION?! Although, now that I've got that out of my system, I'm not to sure the campaign is going to be even half of all the hype. Looking at the gameplay and trailers, it looks exactly like MW2 with better graphics. I really hope they can bring something new to the game. In that light, lets look at the facts. Who even buys video games for the campaign anymore? The only reason I play the story is so I can get familiar with the guns before going into online and owning some noobs. What everyone is really looking forward to is the online modes. Infinity Ward has chosen to stay silent about the online modes. However, I have seen the gameplay trailer for the survival mode. I'm not sure if Infinity Ward was trying to be smart, or let out clues, or what, but in that trailer, there is a part when the gameplay is NOT of survival mode. There is a score in the bottom left corner, but no game mode title. There's also something flashing on the screen, that says "14 Point Streak - Juggernaught". What I want you all to notice is that it said POINT streak not KILL streak. That to me suggests a new game mode, where kills aren't as important. Speaking of survival, that's what interests me most about MW3. The new survival mode isn't as well known, but I'm sure everyone has heard of it. I'm not sure whether to be happy this is here or not. I was really hoping Infinity Ward would actually do zombies, but thats just me. Obviously this new survival mode features LIVE enemies, instead of the walking dead. That means they have guns, but it also means they die easier. A LOT easier. From the gameplay, and the amount of blood covering the screen, your character can also take a CRAPLOAD of damage so it seems like it will be amazing. All-in-all, I've already pre-ordered the game, and can't wait to get my hands on it and go at it.

Horror Movie Character's New Role In Fighting Game's DLC

The Mortal Kombat crew has announced that the fourth character available in the new Mortal Kombat DLC. But sadly, the character is based on the newest "Nightmare On Elm Street", directed by Micheal Bay. Though most of us (if not all) would prefer the Wes Craven character, but you know, it's the Freddy Krueger that we all love (and fear).

This new character will be availble on August 9th, for $4.99 (or 400 Microsoft Points for you 360 folks)

The New Assassin's Creed "Film"

Another big announcement from Comic-Con. Ubisoft announced that there is a CGI short-film coming out about the Assassin's Creed series called Assassin's Creed: Embers. Not a lot of details but we know that It's due to come out around the same time as Assassin's Creed: Revelations and is actually going to be sold with  the special editions of the new game (Animus, Collector, and Signature Editions) there is a video below of the upcoming "film":

Star Wars Takes Over A New 360

Comic-Con is here! And I couldn't be any more excited because with Comic-Con comes awesome video games and special things made just for Comic-Con! Well here is something that caught my eye that I defiantly want. It's a special edition of the new Xbox 360. A Star Wars version to be precise. The makers of this awesome Creation said that it comes with the best hard drive available for the 360. And yes, it gets better. You also get a Kinect (not pictured, but it's just plain white, unlike the usual pitch black) with your purchase of this fabulous bundle. As you can (hopefully) see, the actual console features R2-D2 qualities, and is said to sound like R2 himself at times. And look at that controller! It's a C3-P0, and I want that controller A LOT. Anyway, wipe up the drool and go to your nearest Best Buy (or where ever else you can get it) and buy it for the hefty price of $449.99!

Fun And Free: Great Sports Game!

Today's Fun and Free post comes to us from the game makers over at Games Campus. This game is for all of you MLB fans out there who hate spending 60$ on an amazing baseball game, because you don't have to any more. MLB dugout heroes is one of the best baseball games I have ever played. (and is the only free MLB computer game that I know of). This game has the same qualitys of any MLB game, it's just with cartoon graphics, which isnt really bothering at times. The game allows you to make your own team, using a major league team. (for example you can start any team but the your team is going to contain the players and postions of the major league of your choice) any way here a snapshot and video with a link to where you can download MLB dugout heroes. ( you need to create a Games Campus I.D before you download the game. Its free so your good).

Michael Phelps Gets A Video Game?

That's right. The gold winning record breaking swimmer finally lands a video game role, but it's not a controller based game (think about it: a swimming controller game? who would wanna buy that?) it's actually a Kinect game. When I heard about this I got really excited. The swimming for the Wii (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games) was pretty fun but this will be a revolutionary game in the sports genre. I'm defiantly anticipating this game for the fact that I think that instead of shaking a remote to swim faster is a good idea, but actually having to do the arm motions that Michael Phelps has to do will turn out to be a really, really fun game.

Also, here is a gameplay video:

Annihalation Call Of Duty DLC

The "new" Black Ops map pack came out a bit ago, and features some of the best maps ever made for a Call Of Duty game. Some maps include: "Hanger 8", located in the very mysterious Area 51, "Drive In", a close quarters map that takes place in a 60's drive through, "Silo" which is on a soviet nuclear missile site, "Hazard", a cliff side golf course, and fight zombies in "Shangri-la" a mysterious shrine in the middle of a forest.

Netflix Instant Streaming Introduced To The 3DS

That's right Netflix and handheld Nintendo Lovers, Netflix, The world famous movie company that brings movies to your mailbox and instantly to your TV is teaming up with the game gurus at Nintendo to bring you instant streaming on the New 3DS. Its easy to do, and its highly reccomended you you get the free app. First off, you need to update the device (if not already done). You'll find the update in the settings tab. Once updated, go to the nintendo store (located in the main menu of your 3DS) andget  the Netflix app. When you first go access the app, you'll get an access code that you have to enter on Netflix. It's good to go through all this because it, for one, connects you to your Netflix, and also, also dosen't make you have to re-enter your information every time you want to use the app....but this is a downside if you share a 3DS with some friends who all have seperate accounts, you have to type in the code everytime you switch accounts (and logging off is the really hard to accomplish) but overall I think the hastle is worth it because who dosent like watching movies wherever you like? (provided there is a WiFi source). Anyway if you are a proud Nintendo 3DS owner this is a must have app.

3D Gaming - 3D Glasses = Nintendo 3DS

First we had the original DS, you know the fat no backlight, kinda crappy DS. Then there was the DS Lite, which revolutionized gaming. Then the DSi which slapped competitors in the face because of the new camera ad ons. Now the 3DS, that allows you to game in 3D without the uncomfortable glasses. Now at first I was skeptical, I was thinking to my self, "How is high quality 3D gaming possible without the use of 3D glasses?" let me explain somthing to you. It is. The DS isnt like the old crappy red and blue 3D quality. The small devices actually gives out RealD 3D quality gaming. its really nice to becuase you dont have to always play in third-deminsion (in case it hurts your eyes) Nintendo had the brilliant idea to have a switch which lets you choose how much 3D you want or dont want. Also that awesome app store introduced to the DSi? It didnt go anywhere. Its still included on the 3DS. So save up and go buy your self this $250 amazing gaming machine at GameStop.

Windows 8 To Play 360 Games?

There is a big rumor floating around that the next Microsoft computer upgrade might play Xbox 360 games, an article on Teknylate states. But when (or if) you read the article, something seems wrong with it. To me it seems like there isn't enough details to prove that it is true. The author even states that some of the article was logical theories (I know right?), and he said he got his informaton from Insideris, who got their "information" from some un-named "sources". To me this all seems a little suspicious. There isnt enough proof from any of the articles to prove that this is a true statement. The only way we will find out is if Microsoft confirms this rumor or someone actually plays a 360 game on Windows 8. I guess we will have to wait and see.

New Mod For C.O.D 4 Takes You To A Galaxy Far, Far, Away.

For all of you who still have an "old" copy of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, you might want to check this out. Black Monkeys is a big Mod-ing community, and this is one of their biggest (and best) Mods ever. Black Monkey took all the fun of Star Wars Battlefront, and put the awesome gun action of Call Of Duty and made Star Wars : Galactic Warfare. All of the guns are completley from Star Wars, and you are either A Rebel or A StormTrooper. Here's a video:

EA Buys Small Time PopCap Games

Big time  EA purchased the small time game company PopCap. PopCap developed a few popular games  like; Plants Vs. Zombies and Bejeweled. Now the surprising thing isn't the fact that EA purchased PopCap, that was actually a really good move, judging on the success on their games. What's surprising is how much EA gave to PopCap. EA gave PopCap $650 million dollars in cash, and over $100 million dollars in stock, though some sources state differently. Sources say that the deal could "One-Up" the EA Bioware purchase. EA purchased Bioware (games include the Dragon Age and Mass Effect Series) for $860 million. Anyway PopCap CEO David Roberts states that PopCap picked EA because of their ability to make great games (to simplify). Is this EA's move to take over the gaming industry?

Bioshock Goes Portable?

Yet  another big announcement from E3....... Irrational Games Kevin Levine announced at Sony's Press Conference that the famous thriller series Bioshock is coming to the new Playstation Vita (our article on PS Vita  Here) Levine states that "It's a different project; It's being built from the ground up.", and "... if I'm just saying 'here's Bioshock 1 on Vita', that's something we could potentially do, but you don't need us to do that. Someone else can do that." Levine wasn't up for talking about specifics, all we know is its going to live up to the hardcore feel of the Bioshock series. Oh and another thing: A future Bioshock title will be motion compatible.....defiantly for the Playstation.....what about Kinect?

Kinect Brings Out The Fun Labs

A  little bit ago, at E3, Xbox and the geniuses that developed the now loved Kinect, revealed a free (to gold members) "game" center focused entirely on the Kinect. Well the night I heard about it I jumped on my Kinect, waited an hour or so for the actual Fun Lab Xbox app to download, and then had to wait another half an hour for the Bobble Head "game" to download. I don't know if it was my Internet or if the download is usually that slow (post a comment about generally how long your download took). Finally the bar hit 100% my mind was going crazy thinking about how fun it would be to make your own bobble head, because at E3, they made it look like a REALLY big deal. The results? It sucked. A lot. It took the Kinect forever to find my body (if I moved at all the Kinect would scold me for moving too much) after a painstaking five minutes the kinect finally produced a very weird bobble head of me. It didn't even live up to the standards. One, my face had a weird blueish tint around my mouth (anyone else have this problem) and on stage, the presenter had full interactivity with the bobblehead, they could punch it and the head would bobble back and forth.....not true. I tried all of this and it just acted like I was trying to get away from  Kinect Fun Labs and trust me, I kinda was. Anyway I'm not completely dissing kinect fun labs....I'm just saying my experience with it wasn't that fun....but Xbox promised more Apps and Games headed for Kinect Fun Labs very soon. Check out the official site Here

Ubisoft, Kinect, Tom Clancy, Oh My!

At the Microsoft press conference at E3, Ubisoft revealed a quick gameplay of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier, an awesome add on to the Ghost Recon series. This game is unlike the other ones in the series, and I'm saying this because I'm honestly not that big of a Ghost Recon fan. I love Tom Clancy games but for some reason don't like the Ghost Recon series. Anyway the whole gameplay is based on two things : Customablilty and Kinectibility. The new innovated flow of the game doesn't just allow you to change the barrel and the scope etc. This game takes you into the heart of the guns. You can even customize the hammer. Yeah, the hammer. That's not the only cool thing. Lets say your a close combat guy, but arn't that good gun smart, or just don't have the time to look through all the attachments. Easy. Just say "optimize close range" the gun disappears and in a split second and optimized close range gun is in your sight. You can also "optimize range" and "randomize".

The thing that I always wondered was "will the Kinect actually work for a FPS?" the answer (I found out) is yes. You can easily tell that Ubisoft did its best to innovate the controls to optimize ability and the awesomness of the game. Shoot is simple, open and close your palm. Bam. You Just Shot.

This post wasn't just all about Future Soldier though. This post is also about a promise Ubisoft made: "All Tom Clancy Series Games From This Day Forward Are Going To Have Kinectability!"  Why is this exciting? Two words. Splinter. Cell.

New App To Extinguish The Need To Learn A New Language

Picture this: You go on vacation to germany, and your looking for your hotel. Problem is, you don't speak German (hypothetically for those who are German). You come to a big sign that reads "Hotel 30 Kilometer entfernt, am Weg "A" links abbiegen und immer geradeaus." Now how in the world are you going to read that? Most people would most likely try to learn german before this trip, or carry a language guide with them, but think about how long that takes! Well now there is an app to deliver the needs to those weary travelers. This app is called Word Lens. Now what this app does is it translates words inside of images. For example, lets say you take a picture of that sign, and the app would look at it, then change the words to English! Think im kidding? check out this video:

Now this app is acctuly free, but you have to pay to get the languages that you need to be translated. But what would you rather have to do : Learn a language, or spend a couple bucks to let the app do all the work?
You Decide.

Mass Effect 3 + Kinect = Fun?

Thats right, The game of the year sequel is going to be on Kinect! Supposedly this is supposed to make you feel more Immersed in the game by acctully letting you command your troops with your voice! You can use your voice to select dialog chocies, and, command troops all with your voice. But im still wondering whether or not its going to work as a fun game. Even if it dosent, im going to try it out, regardless of what anyone says. Microsft is releasing a ton of Kinect games to immerse in the Augmented Reality world. Here is a preview of Mass Effect 3:

Duke Nukem Bombs His Way To Stores

Let me be honest everybody. I had no knowledge of what this game was about or if it looked good or not before I did research to write this post, I only knew it was coming out because of all the ads in my local Gamestop store. Anyway, this is what I found out: you play Duke Nukem, a hero who saved earth by destroying an alien race that was attempting to take over earth. But that all changes when the aliens come back and destroy Duke's perfect world. Duke, who by now, is P.O. Wouldn't you if you thought u destroyed a clan of aliens but they just come back?

The games isn't  all just about the story though. Gearbox promised world interactivity, which means you can spend all  the time in the world shooting hoops, lifting weights, playing pool, slots and more.

Duke Nukem Forever actually came out 4 days ago, so its most likely still in the 50-60$ range.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves

Guess what everyone the new Wario is out and its going to shake your world that's right shake your world because it is motion activated on the Wii. This is a top ten on the Rob and Sam classics from the Nintindo sp version to the brand new version now on the Wii. Anyway this version features the same of Wario's  hilarious shenanigans and high jinks as you solve problems of pure randomness in each trial. You also fall in love with the game because it is filled with addicting thrill here is a little taste of the action below.

What Gets Your Gears Of War Moving

Guess what Gears Of War fans a the new Gears Of War or like Rob and I like to say G.O.W is coming out in stores at this minute. In this trilogy you are faced by the Locost a roving alien that attacked man kind and attempted to conquer the earth. the only thing keeping them from doing so was earths very own calvery that's right the betas. so our men so vallently fought the Locost through out each of the games and the third of them [Gears Of War beta] is the newest so if you like blood gore and alien annihilation go and pick up a copy of Gears Of War Beta.

Playstation Changes The Way You Play Portable Games

Here is another story from E3, Its a new gadget from Playstation : the PS Vista. If you look at the picture, it looks like an average PSP, but the secret is its not a PSP. Instead of a normal boring screen, the Vita has a touch screen. Yes. I know. Thats not the only awesome part. Remeber on the PSP how you had to have wi-fi to play online, so if you went on a car ride you would be playing solo. Well Playstation has a solution to that too. They made the Vita able to connect to AT&T wi-fi. That means you can play literally anywhere. And it gets even better. You know how everything has a camera now? This device has one too. Playstation installed these so the games can take your surroundings and put them in the game.  They said this will bring a awesome Augmented Reality (AR) to the games. When I saw this, all I could say was wow. I want it, and I want it NOW. The new PS Vita will start out at 249$ and be released by March 2012

Not only is the story mode supposed to be amazing, but Ubisoft was impressed by the huge Success of the multiplayer in brotherhood, so they promised to improve the multiplayer in the new installment. Now you can fully customize  your characters and their weapons, and more surprises appear as you level up, because Ubisoft is adding a story line to the multiplayer games. I'm getting excited because I want this game.

Assassin's Creed: Revalations will be available November 13th, 2011.

Nintendo "One Ups" The Xbox Kinect With The Wii U

For those of you who haven't been paying attention to E3, you missed the big announcement from Nintendo, and their new handheld accessory, the Wii U, which works in sync with the Wii. Here is their E3 Video which will explain it better than I can.

Some people (me included) have a feeling that Nintendo made this device in return of Xbox's Kinect, which "didn't have pre-made controls" and "you are in charge, not a controller". Well Xbox, Looks like Nintendo came back Pretty Good. So unless Xbox comes out with a Portable Kinect, I'm going to have to give this one to Nintendo.

The Nintendo Wii U will be available, hopefully, by 2012.
